René Peters (born 1971 in Simmerath, Germany) studied chemistry at the RWTH Aachen (1992-97) and received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from the same university in 2000 under supervision of Prof. Dieter Enders. For his postdoctoral studies he joined as a DAAD fellow the research group of Prof. Yoshito Kishi at Harvard University (2000/01). Subsequently, he worked for 3.5 years as a process research chemist (lab head and since 2003 project leader) in the groups of Dr. Milan Soukup and Dr. Rudolf Schmid and in the divisions of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Martin Karpf and Dr. Ulrich Widmer at F. Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel. In October 2004, he joined the faculty of ETH Zürich as assistant professor and since October 2008 he is associate professor at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
